Interface Overview

The BlackMountain interface is organized into several key areas that help you navigate and work efficiently.

Primary Sidebar

The icon rail on the left side of the screen gives you quick access to the main sections of the platform:

Navigation tip:

Click any icon to switch between sections. The secondary sidebar will update based on your selection.


Secondary Sidebar

When you select a section from the primary sidebar, a contextual secondary sidebar appears with relevant content.

Examples:

  • In Chat, you'll see your conversation threads organized by folders and labels

  • In Assistant Studio, you'll see your custom assistants and the assistant library

  • In Home, you'll see recent activity and quick access to key features


Header

The top header bar contains tools for navigation and settings.

Organization, Workspace & Team Switchers

Switch between organizations, workspaces, and teams using the dropdown in the top left.

What's the difference?

Organization — Your company (contains all workspaces, teams, and members)

Workspace — Subdivision for departments, projects, or business units

Team — Groups within workspaces that share assistants, folders, and resources

Search

Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on Mac) to open the global search. Quickly find:

  • Chat threads

  • Assistants

  • Documents

  • Settings

Profile Menu

Access your profile, settings, and sign-out options from the top right.

Quick Access

  • Feedback — Share feedback or report issues

  • Documentation — Access this Help Center directly from the platform


Main Content Area

The central area of the screen is where your primary interaction happens:

  • Chatting with AI models

  • Creating and managing assistants

  • Configuring organization settings

  • Viewing analytics and reports (coming soon in Control Tower)


Customization

Theme

BlackMountain supports both light and dark themes. Toggle your preferred theme from:

  • The profile menu in the top right

  • The Settings & Configuration page

Want a custom company theme?

Enterprise customers can request custom branding. Contact our team to set it up.
